Wrist Band Sale: The Spirit Week Committee will sell green LIVESTRONG bracelets that say ‘HCA SPIRIT WEEK 2010” for $2 during morning recess, lunch, and lunch recess throughout Spirit Week. The money collected will be used to buy ingredients for casseroles that the Middle School homerooms will make for a service project.
Monday(March 1) Class Spirit Day
Color Day:Each homeroom in the school will be assigned a different color and the students should wear a shirt that color today. For example- if your grade is assigned Lime Green then the students will wear a lime green top to school. Pants and shoes do not have to be the color.
Homeroom Door Decorating Contest: Each homeroom will be asked to decorate their homeroom door. We would like you to decorate your door with something that represents your grade. The Spirit Week Committee will cover the door in your homeroom color. They will also give you supplies that you can use to help the class decorate their door. You are not limited to using these supplies – you may add anything you wish including photos, stickers, etc. We would also like you to have words on your door that describe your class. If the primary teachers wish, the Spirit Committee will help your homerooms do their doors. The grade with the best door will win a prize.

Tuesday(March 2) Career Day or What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?
Career/Occupation Day:Students will come to school dressed to symbolize the occupation they hope to be when they grow up. Example- If you want to be a scientist, wear a white lab coat and goggles. During the day there will be Holy Child Alums representing their occupations coming to speak to all the students about what they do [for work]. See schedule below. 11:00 – 11:45 - Kathryne Meakim Fornwalt '90 (Pathologist) visits Grades 4 and 5 in Room 105. 11:45 - 12:30 - Kathryne Meakim Fornwalt '90 visits Grades 6, 7, and 8 in Room 202. 1:00 – 2:00 - Alyse Wojciechowski '01(Broadway star of Mamma Mia) and Jeff Civillico '97 (Internationally Famous Juggler and Motivational Speaker) (via Skype) visit the whole school in the MPR. 2:15 – 3:00 - Ryan Grace '98 (Asst. District Attorney) visits Graces 6, 7, and 8 in the MPR. Wednesday(March 3) Disney/Movie Day
Disney Day (Primary):Primary Grade students are invited to wear something Disney related. They may dress up as a Disney Character, wear a Disney t-shirt, or just wear Mickey or Minnie ears. Movie Theme Day (Middle School):Each middle school homeroom will pick a movie (G or PG) and dress up as the characters in it. Example- If your grade chooses Finding Nemo, each member will dress up as something fishy. The Middle School students will go to the MPR from 1:00 to 1:30. Each homeroom will get up one at a time and try to get the other homerooms to guess correctly what movie they are characterizing. They can do this by putting on a short skit, playing 20 questions with the audience, or sing a song from the movie. When a homeroom thinks they know what the movie is, they are to hold up their class flag which will be waiting for them in the MPR.

Thursday (March 4) Bring a Friend a Lunch Day
High-School/College Day:Students can wear a shirt or sweatshirt of HCA, a high school, or college.
Buddy Lunch: Everyone in the school community will bring a lunch for an assigned lunch buddy. Each student and teacher name has been put in a hat and the spirit week committee has pulled out and paired up a mix of all grades of students, teachers, and staff members. Everyone involved will be given a lunch questionnaire to fill out the week of February 22. On the questionnaire you will be asked what you like to eat for lunch and if you have food allergies. You will make a lunch for your buddy at home and they will do the same for you. On Thursday, you will bring in your lunch for your buddy; you will both eat lunch together in the cafeteria. Everyone in the SCHOOL will eat LUNCH that day FROM 12:15 – 12:45.
Friday (March 5) HCA SPIRIT DAY
*Gym clothes are to be worn
Service Activity:Each middle school homeroom (from 12:45 to 1:30) will make casseroles that will be sent to a Food Cupboard in Upper Darby. Supplies will be purchased with the money collected from the LIVESTRONG bracelets.
Wiffle Ball Game:Staff and students will face off in the classic game- Wiffle Ball! Teams will be determined that day (names pulled from a hat) and will be announced before each inning. Each middle school homeroom will play an inning and between the innings the primaries will play a prepared relay game. Instructions for that game will be announced before the game. The game will take place from 1:30 to 3:00. DOOR DECORATING RESULTS ANNOUNCED at the end of the games!!! HAPPY SPIRIT WEEK!!!
